The Institute brings together world class research scientists from around the globe to work collaboratively and share ideas and expertise. The IIES Canadian office is located at Trent University in Peterborough, Ontario. Black Cap Design was contracted to redesign and rebuild the site – to modernize the user interface and make it easier for IIES staff to manage the site.  The new site was constructed with WordPress and features a customized Membership directory, Event and Course registration systems, and a blog.

New Design for the PHS Hutchison House website

The Peterborough Historical Society and Hutchison House Museum, located in Peterborough, Ontario, offer a range of programs and services related to heritage preservation, education and awareness. Hutchison House is one of the oldest limestone houses in Peterborough, and operates year round as a museum offering a glimpse of life in Ontario in the mid-1800s. In 2021, the website was redesigned and constructed using the WordPress content management platform enabling staff and volunteers to manage the site independently. The new website and blog makes it possible for donations, memberships and ticket sales to be processed easily and securely online.

The Peterborough Chapter of the Ontario Public Interest Research Group (OPIRG Peterborough) provides resources, support and space for Trent University students & community members working to achieve environmental and human rights, diversity, sustainability, peace and social equity. This accessible and mobile responsive website was designed and constructed using the WordPress content management system, making it possible for OPIRG staff and volunteers to manage website content independently.

The Ontario Colleges Retirees’ Association (OCRA) is a not-for-profit association run by volunteers advocating for retirees of the Ontario Colleges of Applied Arts and Technology (CAAT). The website provides information and resources for the OCRA membership as well as a Membership Form for prospective members. The new mobile-friendly and accessible OCRA website was designed and constructed using the WordPress CMS, providing OCRA volunteers the ability to manage the site independently.

The Legacy Project: Trauma Story Healing provides resources and information related to intergenerational trauma in Indigenous peoples and communities, and is maintained by author and educator Suzanne Methot.  The mobile-friendly and accessible Legacy Project website was designed and built using the WordPress content management system.  And because it’s WordPress, the site can be managed independently with the easy-to-use WordPress dashboard.

Intergovernmental Committee for Economic and Labour Force Development in Toronto (ICE Committee).  The ICE Committee facilitates collaboration among ministries and departments involved with economic and labour force development in the city of Toronto, Ontario.  The new mobile-responsive and accessible ICE Committee website was rebuilt using the WordPress Content Management System.

Screenshot of the new design for Carpenter HospiceThe Carpenter Hospice, located in Burlington, Ontario, provides residential care in a home-like setting to people in the last stages of life, and community-based support programs for people dealing with grief or a life-limiting illness. The Carpenter Hospice website was completely redesigned and rebuilt in 2016.  The new mobile-friendly site was constructed with WordPress, so the site can be managed independently.  The site features a responsive media slider, an editable event calendar, newsletter integration, testimonials, and a secure contact form.

Sustainable Peterborough is a community based, regional organization working to set directions, and actions for balancing the environmental, socio-cultural, and economic pillars of sustainability for current and future generations.  The site was completely redesigned then custom-built using WordPress to allow staff and volunteers the ability to manage all aspects of the website independently.  The site meets WCAG guidelines for Accessibility and is fully mobile-responsive.

The Lakefield Horticultural Society

The Lakefield Horticultural Society is a community-based volunteer organization that works to beautify the village of Lakefield, Ontario using community gardens, hanging baskets and window baskets. The site was built using the WordPress CMS which allows Society members to manage and contribute website content – including the fabulous images you can see in their gallery.

The Ontario Association of Jungian Analysts

The Ontario Association of Jungian Analysts (OAJA) is a Toronto, Ontario based professional group of the International Association for Analytical Psychology (IAAP), the clearing-house for all working Jungian Analysts. The site was designed specifically for OAJA members and those exploring the possibility of training in Toronto as a Jungian Analyst.  The OAJA site design is a single column layout.  This layout was chosen to accommodate the associations requirement for minimal images or visually distracting elements. The site was built using the WordPress Content Management System (CMS) which enables independent content management.

Peterborough City Soccer Association

Peterborough City Soccer Association promotes and develops soccer at all levels in the greater Peterborough area, offering competitive programs in the spirit of fair play and fun. The PCSA website was constructed on the WordPress CMS platform, providing a user-friendly administrative dashboard for independent site management.  The PCSA has been actively managing the site, adding pages, PDF’s, images, schedules, tournament results and news updates. The site includes a range of dynamic features including a perpetual event calendar and image gallery software.
