The Website of Your Dreams

If you’re considering having a website designed or redesigned, selecting a Web Designer is just the first step.

Dream Website

Imagine you have just commissioned a painting.  The artist will need to know what you have envisioned – portrait, landscape, abstract…

A Web Designer is like an artist staring at a blank canvas.  You really don’t want your Designer jumping in without any guidance from you, especially if you are working to a deadline.

In most cases a Web Designer will start with a wireframe showing you the proposed layout of the elements that will make up your site.  A wireframe is like a blueprint, showing the approximate placement of your logo / branding, navigation menu, content, columns, and footer. Once you’ve given the thumbs-up to the wireframe, your Designer will build a colour mockup, or picture of what your new site will look like (including sample text, colours, logo, and images).  Once you sign off on the mockup, your new design will be converted into a working website.

So…

At Black Cap Design we have created a checklist that will help you provide the information we need to design the website of your dreams.

Download the PDF “Website-Starter-Checklist“.

It’s also worth noting that Web Designers will typically charge extra if multiple mockups are required to achieve the look and feel you’re after.  To keep the process within your budget and achieve a design that works for you, it is best if you can provide your Designer with as much information as possible – early on in the project.

We look forward to working through this checklist with you so please contact us if you have any questions.  You can reach us at or by phone at 705-927-2308.
